A NOVEMBER SHOCK
It May Not Be as Bad as It Appears
Well, that was a shock. I certainly did not see it coming. Like many, I checked my phone early Wednesday morning and was stunned to read that Trump was about to declare victory and that the election was not even close. By 6:00 AM it was apparent that Meta was blocking political posts on Facebook and Instagram. It seemed beyond comprehension that a majority of voters would choose to trade our democracy and personal freedom for the apocalyptic vision of Project 2025. How could our beloved country so abruptly abandon its principles, morality, and reason?
Since I was already awake, I decided to head out early to the VA medical center for their monthly drive-through immunization clinic and get a shingles shot, something I have postponed for too long. The hour and a half trip would give me some time to process what was happening. I started out listening to commentators on MSNBC and CNN casting blame all over the lot for what happened, and wringing their hands in grief over what is to come. After about ten minutes I shut off the radio and began quieting my mind to the soothing drone of tires on the pavement. That’s when I realized that I was not sickened, not even upset, but feeling surprisingly serene.
Now, some of you may not understand or accept this, but I have reached a point in a long life of spiritual practice where I have learned to listen to that still small voice known as intuition. I call it the voice of spirit. Whether it is God, the Christ spirit, my own subconscious, my higher self, or guardian angels, I really don’t know. It doesn’t matter. It has nothing to do with faith or religion. That voice has never misguided me and frequently assures me. It often gives me answers to crossword puzzles before I read the clues. It constantly influences what I write. On this day it spoke calmly and firmly, telling me that all will be well and that I should not fear the outcome.
A few days before the election I had listened to an extensive spiritual channeling by Lee Carroll, a mild-mannered acoustic engineer who has been speaking fora spiritual entity called Kryon for 35 years. I have attended many of Lee’s seminars over the years, and spoken with him face to face several times. I have watched as he closes his eyes and begins speaking in a voice that he says he hears but does not control in any way. I have been a follower of Lee’s work from the start and have found the information that he brings forth to be remarkably reliable and prescient. In my book What’s Happening, I cited his work extensively. When I asked Lee’s permission to quote him, he granted it carte blanche with the only condition being that I do it with integrity.
During the runup to the 2016 election, Kryon stated that the U.S. government needed a shakeup to enable it to adapt to the global shift in human consciousness that we are now experiencing. Trump’s election that year certainly shook things up. Kryon stated at that time that the world’s population had reached a level of enlightenment that changed the path we were on, and that the ancient prophesies of Armageddon and world’s end no longer held true. Kryon said there would not be another world war, but that smaller conflicts would continue to erupt until the planet’s population reached a level of enlightenment where such actions would no longer be supported or tolerated.
In the channeling before this week’s election, Kryon stated that it would not matter who won, that either way our government will continue to be gridlocked and that nothing will get done over the next four years. Kryon went on to reiterate that our government needs major structural changes because the way it has been operating no longer works. The implication that I heard in this message was that we would not be seeing the end of democracy in our country, but that the experience of the next four years would bring all of us together under new leadership that would make major changes in our governmental structure, as well as in our economic and social policies. Kryon said that the new leadership will come from highly enlightened young men and women who are now mostly under 36 and have already been moving into government and politics. Only time will tell if any of this is valid, of course, but in the turmoil of the moment I choose to focus on this possibility rather than the gloomy autocratic promise of Project 2025.
